Foresight Sports MyBag vs. Trackman Map My Bag | Why One is the Smarter Choice

Sep 17, 2025 Foresight Sports MyBag vs. Trackman Map My Bag | Why One is the Smarter Choice

When comparing club-mapping applications from Foresight Sports and Trackman, the names may sound alike, but that’s pretty much where the similarities end.

Gone are the days when advanced data and metrics were reserved only for the best players in the world. Today, golfers at every level want real information about their game, their equipment, and – most importantly – simple ways to apply it during actual play. Smart tech isn’t just a luxury anymore; it’s becoming the norm.

That ability to efficiently and accurately apply data in real-world settings is what separates Foresight Sports’ MyBag platform from its closest competitor, Map My Bag from Trackman.

On the surface, both systems help you understand your equipment and tendencies as a golfer. But only one was designed for decision-making where it matters most – on the course.

Play vs. Practice

MyBag successfully bridges the gap between practice sessions and live rounds. By recording individualized club data through your Foresight Sports launch monitor and pairing that data with your Bushnell rangefinder via LINK-Enabled Technology, you receive personalized club recommendations in real time on the course. The system factors in course conditions, wind, slope and altitude when offering your club recommendation. It’s truly like having a tour-level caddie at the click of a button.

Map My Bag, on the other hand, offers a strong training tool during simulator play or practice sessions. It shines indoors, helping players understand their gapping, shot patterns and trends. But its usefulness ends when you step outside.

How They Work

MyBag

  • Start by syncing your Foresight Sports launch monitor and Bushnell Golf app.

  • Hit real shots to build your personal club profile. With Foresight’s portable launch monitors, you can do this indoors, on the range or even on course.

  • Once synced to the Bushnell app and connected to your range finder  Pro X3+, Pro X3, Pro X3 Link, Pro X3+ Link), MyBag automatically delivers personalized PlayAs distances and real-time club recommendations straight to your rangefinder.

Map My Bag

  • Requires a Trackman unit and TPS software.

  • Build your bag by capturing shots inside a simulator, generating rolling averages for each club.

  • Updates are manual, which means keeping your profile fresh requires re-mapping sessions.

In-Play Utility: The Big Difference

This is where MyBag pulls away. To activate MyBag on your Bushnell rangefinder:

  1. Go to settings by pressing and holding the Mode button.

  2. Use Fire/Power to navigate to the Club On/Off screen

  3. Select ON, then confirm with the Fire/Power button.

Boom, it’s that easy. Now you’re ready to put your personalized club data to work.

Here are a few key details to know:

  • MyBag data is automatically downloaded to your Bushnell Golf Mobile App after linking and your club set dynamically adjusts for real-world playing conditions.

  • PlayAs yardages factor in slope, weather, temperature and altitude.

  • Dispersion charts and “Today’s Distances” offer a true picture of your game.

  • Up to two smart club recommendations per shot.

  • Example:

    • -8i: A shorter club (8 iron)

    • +7i: A longer club (7 iron)

    • The display toggles between the two options.

In-App Experience: Bushnell Golf App

MyBag Screen Features

  • Today’s Distances: Auto-adjusted carry distances for current temperature, elevation, and humidity.

  • Hole View Overlay: Visual display of club dispersions across each hole (pictured, right).

Not to beat a dead horse (we’re sure you get the difference at this stage) but Trackman Map My Bag stays indoors. It’s excellent for offseason work or simulator practice, providing gap charts, yardages and multi-user flexibility (MyBag does all those things, as well). But when you’re standing on the 14th tee, staring down a 195 yard par 3, you’ve just pressed and you need to win the hole to square the match, Trackman Map My Bag can't do much to help you in the moment.

Why MyBag Wins

At the end of the day, the edge goes to MyBag for one simple reason: it works when it matters most.

Golf isn’t played in a simulator. It’s played in the wind, in the heat, in the cold, uphill and downhill. MyBag is the only system that ties your launch monitor data directly into your rangefinder, giving you actionable advice in the moment.

It’s a smarter choice.
